Theresa Shepperson started her upholstery business in 1953. At first, she worked from her home. In the early 70’s, her son, Tom Shepperson, joined the business and it moved to a retail operation in Fern Creek.
The business continued to grow, adding employees and a new line of business, Thrifty Fabrics, selling upholstery fabrics and supplies both wholesale and retail.
Tommy Shepperson, son of Tom, joined the family business in the early 90’s, making three generations. We moved to our current location in 1997.
Shepperson Upholostery and Thrifty Fabrics now employs five craftspeople with nearly 200 years combined experience in upholstery. We take pride in our professional work and quality craftsmanship.
